MARAFIKI WA ELIMU MBEYA(MEM) has a wide range of VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES available in working with children projects training children about their rights and training young reporters , also volunteer who can work with us in issues based on social participation in bringing change to academic sectors , research based on children facing academic problems caused by family challenges, Youth self employment seminars based on dialogues and success stories sharing, Visitation of Orphanage or orphanage centres,Teaching children and youth, Donation etc. MEM has volunteer placement in all districts of Mbeya Region .while we would like an indication of your location reference when applying, this can be finalized with our program placement. START AND DURATION OF NHCYN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM. Placement begin on the first and tenth each month. Volunteers can choose to volunteer for a week to six months Volunteers must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the volunteer program and have at least high school education. Volunteers participating in the program must have appropriate specification of an area of volunteer among the following 1.TRAINING YOUNG CHILDREN MEM works to realized that all children are informed about their rights and practice by address to the public through media and their councils. Hence volunteers who can train young reporters are mostly needed. 2. BOOK DONATION We need volunteers who can help us to find out international and domestic organization which can donate books in different schools as the way forward for academic excellence in most of the ward schools. 3. RESEARCH (DATA COLLECTION). This involves collecting information about children who were supposed to be enrolled for studies in schools but are not due to family problems like death of parents, unwillingness from parents, poverty and other related problems.NHCYN will collaborate with volunteers to collect these information finally share with Government, Non Government Organization with specialization in children and youth welfare for the sake of giving support to these innocent children . Research will also involves finding out standard seven failures and form four leavers who are jobless and getting their views about what do they like to do by forming groups for forming groups to start entrepreneurship projects. Youth from this category are likely to be upcoming dependency and finally can engage in bad behavior so as to get money and meet their basic needs; likewise their names and wishes of self employment are to be collected finally publicized Most of these beneficiaries are expected to be rural dwellers. 4.SEMINAR AND FESTIVAL RUNNING Volunteers in collaboration with MEM will prepare seminars and festivals which will be involving professionals and people with success stories to be shared with youth and children as one way of giving them inspirations. Career choice and talent development advice Example through seminars youth are likely to get skills on how to establish and run agricultural and livestock keeping projects Among the core expected things to be given to youth during seminars and festival include; (a) local chicken keeping projects, (b) Bee keeping projects, (c) Vegetable farming projects, (d) youth corporate SACCOS 3. COMMUNITY OUTREACHES PROGRAM. This involve visiting community groups like schools, hospitals, and other groups .Central focus is just to provide education to children and youth rights basically education and self expression capability building. 4. ORPHANAGE WORKS. This involve visiting orphans' centre giving any support and sharing best moments with children with their mentors. Due to the high incidences of poverty and illness like HIV/AIDS, orphanages can host between 50-300 vulnerable children at any one time and there is always high demand for volunteer assistance in Tanzania VOLUNTEER TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS.
